Woodrow Wislons 4 points!

Woodrow Wilson created 14 points on how to create lasting peace. of these points i found 4 of them to be very interesting. The League of Nations for one is where the leaders of nations come together and talk about what is going on in the world, and to police the world, and create peace. The league of nations is not around today, but the daughter United Nations are. Erasing the use of secret treaties was another of his points. I like this point because it takes the secrets of building a super power alliance away. Lasting peace was one of his points, which lasted until World War 2 came and still isnt in place due to all the fighting in the middle east and africa. Another of the points is re-mapping europe and creating Self determination, where the people decide which government they want to be ruled by. The re-mapped England is still in effect and hasnt changed too much since WW1 other than the territory changed created by WW2.

Political Cartoon

This cartoon is showing a little bit of what trench warfare is like. I believe the cartoonist is saying how silly trench warfare is. Being stuck in a trench and having to peep over the top of the trench just to see whats going on with the risk of getting your head blown off. He is also showing how the soldiers think they have found a way to see over the top without being shot with the little telescope with mirrors. the cartoonist is exaggerating the fact that they cant look over the top even a little bit to see whats going on, also with him aiming down the sight, he is exaggerating that they soldiers can't even shoot from where they are positioned, which may be true. I like this comic, it shows how useless trench warfare is unless your defending the target. the comic is right about what is going on in the trenches, you can't peek over to far, and you cant shoot without peeking over and getting shot.

Women in America!

World War I was the first war that america used "Women Power". America allowed women to join the branches of the military. The women served as nurses in the army and some women had even won awards from serving. although most women never joined the military. Before the war women where mostly housewives, who stayed home and watched over the house. but when the men left their jobs to fight in the war. the women where put to work in the mens place. Changing how america viewed the women. Before this they viewed them as just stay at home mothers, and now America viewed them as being capable of doing everything that men can do.

Armenian Genocide.

The Armenian Genocide is the mass killing of the Armenian race in Turkey, the successor of the Ottoman Empire. The Armenian Genocide is the systematic destruction of the Armenian race in turkey, with massacres and deportations with forced marches, designed to kill the deportees. This happened because the Armenians and the turks where not having conflicts, but the Armenians revolted against the turks creating turmoil for years. The turks used mass burnings, drownings, poisons and gases to kill of the Armenians. While the Armenians where being deported, they where on death marches and sent to extermination camps.
I am shocked to read about this, i never even heard of this genocide. After reading about it being the first modern genocide, it puzzled me as to what a modern genocide is. A Modern Genocide is the systematic, organized way that the massacres where carried out. what bothered me the most is the mass burnings. I don't understand how you can just watch someone being burned to death, they would most likely be screaming and running around on fire. If you can sleep after witnessing thousands of people burning, there is a serious problem with you. Another astonishing thing is how they took Armenian children out on a boat, and threw them overboard to drown. It sickens me to think that anyone can just throw a kid overboard and forget about them. I don't know how anyone could kill someone, let alone destroy a race.
